F C Munderi Mobile App
UX/UI Design

The F C Munderi football club app, where fans & enthusiasts can sign up for football coaching, make turf reservations and purchase kits.
My role:

what I did ?
Competitive Analysis, User Research, Information Architecture, Usability Study, Design Language
The problem:
How to assist Munderi's football enthusiasts in their requirements?
The Background
F C Munderi fans and other football enthusiasts in Munderi rely on various sports websites. There is no exclusive source in the region that focuses only on football. All the available websites cover multiple sports. Football enthusiasts in the region have their unique needs, such as booking football turf, buying kits, attending football coaching, etc.
Football Club Munderi aims to provide comprehensive services due to the awareness.
The 5 W’s of F C Munderi app:
I embarked on a journey to understand the hurdles faced by people of various ages and professions when purchasing furniture online for their work and living spaces.
The 5 W’s of F C Munderi app:
Who: The intended audience comprises football enthusiasts and club fans aged 11–40 years, seeking diverse necessities.
What: A football-centric mobile app catering to the needs of the fans and enthusiasts.
When: This application is designed to be used around the clock, with full days and weekends.
Where: Any aficionados from any part of the world can use the app.
Why: It is very difficult to rely on different sports apps for varied football needs. People become frustrated because all services are not available in the existing apps.
The Iterative Process of Designing F C Munderi app
While developing the FCM app, I employed the Double Diamond Strategy. It splits the design process into four stages: Discover, Define, Deliver, and Develop.
This method excellently validates design decisions and fosters creative growth.

What is available in Munderi?
PlaySports, Playo & Turf Town.
To aid football enthusiasts in achieving their goals for the provision of their needs and to understand what is lacking,
I conducted a competitive analysis of the well-known sports applications PlaySports, Playo, and Turf Town, with a focus on
UX analysis. These apps provide an idea about existing football services available in the area. However, there isn't a football-specific app that offers services to meet all of their needs.
Here, I'll go over everything I learned from the analysis.
This information allowed me to make a list of specific ways that
F C Munderi ought to differ from competitors.
• People who want to pursue football professionally want to obtain quality football coaching (which is lacking in PlaySports, Playo, and Turf Town).
• Selling kits and jerseys is a key service that people anticipate. (lacking in Playo & Turf Town)
• All of the club local matches and scores are eagerly awaited
by the fans.
The Munderi Premier League is the largest football event in the area, and fans of F C Munderi and other football lovers are interested in knowing the match results, watching the matches, and updating the score table of the season.
User Research:
Understanding users needs
In 2020, I worked on a prior project for the club as the branding and identity designer. My prior design research made it quite simple for me to comprehend the club's concept for a new app.
I spent four days getting to know the F C Munderi app's users and their needs. Every day I went to the club to watch the games.
After interacting with the users and club members, I realised the app should concentrate on:
• those who want to sign up and find out more about the club's football coaching.
• people want to Book the FCM's football court for their
local matches.
• FCM fans who want to know the match scores, club updates, and details of the next events.
• people who are considering buying kits and jerseys.
User Interviews
I interviewed six people with a variety of needs to better understand the goals and requirements of users.
I was able to obtain several important insights after synthesising the interview data into what consumers are Doing, Thinking,
and Feeling:
• People will be happy if a single application meets all of their needs for football facilities.
• Parents are eagerly awaiting the start of the club’s football coaching. Some of them are currently travelling quite a distance for coaching.
• They are happy if the app provides all the information about the local matches as well as all the MPL updates.
• If other teams join with their squad and challenge for matches on the turf, youngsters are thrilled about it.
• Folks want to know which eateries and juice bars are available near the turf they reserved.
• People are happy to see the offers on turf booking and kit purchases.

Empathising with football enthusiasts

User Journeys:
What would Prithviraj’s experience with F C Munderi app be?
From the insights from the interviews, I started concentrating on the project's scope and creating user personas, user journeys, and user flows to ensure that any further design decisions remained user-centric.
I have developed User Journey Maps that describe the steps necessary to help each persona within the app accomplish their unique goals, taking into account their experiences, attitudes, and goals. I was able to concentrate on possible critical pain points and make plans for how to deal with them in the ensuing design decisions as a result.

User flow:
How would Prithviraj book turf in FC Munderi app ?
I started to map their user flows. This stage assisted me in maintaining a design user-centered by outlining the app's pages or screens from the viewpoint of the user personas.

Restructuring the Content:
Iterating on the Sitemap after Open Card Sort.
I created an information architecture sitemap for the app based on the user flows before I started on the initial designs for each feature. Through an Open Card Sort, the sitemap's initial iteration was Tested.
I made significant changes to the Sitemap as a result of some insightful observations about how users organised the content:
• People place greater importance on knowing the specific qualifications and experiences of the football coaches before registering their children for coaching.
• When it comes to the payment for booking turf, people take different approaches. Some players prefer to split the bill and send it to their teammates straight away through the app, while in other cases, the captain is ready make the payment.
• When they shop, people place more emphasis on trending products, favourite player's kits, and offers of the products.

Wireframing:

Sketches & first clickable prototype.
I created a clickable prototype using the sketches. This gave me the opportunity to immediately test and improve my idea in the initial stage.
Learnings from Usability Test:
Problems and solutions.
With three users, the prototype was tested. he findings from the usability test were documented and rated by severity.
The most severe problems were:
• The signup for the football coaching page lacked important information.
• The shopping page's information hierarchy does not meet user expectations.
• Some icons were ambiguous in the navigation bar (booking the turf, match fixtures, coaching page icon, etc.).
The F C Munderi app's following high-fidelity iteration overcame these problems. I modified the icons in the navigation bar to the simplest ones and added all the information to the coaching and shopping pages in accordance with the hierarchy.
Deciding the Look & Feel of
F C Munderi
The Club FCM wanted their app to have the tone of their ideology and passion for football, yet be simple. Based on the logo and colours designed for FCM in branding, I decided the colours for the top and bottom navigation bars and the icons. Primary colours Blue gradients and white texts are used on images for the vibe of the club and for better communication of the information.

What were the challenges?
During the feedback, the club members saw themselves as the users. They each had their own unique perspective and opinion about the sitemap and arrangements of the app, which were being pulled in different directions.
I managed to align the club members by having regular feedback sessions with them where I presented my insights.
I communicated my design decisions, stressing why and how these steps in the design process would benefit the end result.
Whats next?
There are a few concepts and connections I want to further develop:
design players detail page of the detailed description of players career achievements and their unique game styles. "This feature can help our players get the opportunities in their career for the next level (state and national team).
My FCM and settings screens
What I’ve learned from F C Munderi
The F C Munderi app is a project I’ve worked on as a solo UX/UI designer from start to finish.
Although all of the services we offer in the app are tied to football, users who are not club members have their own distinct objectives in the app.
At some point, I understood my biases towards my design decisions. When I focused on the regular feedback and trusted my design process, I realised the design remaining user-centric.
I realised how important it is to use the simplest visual icons to communicate better.
